Mar. 17—Intellectual Disabilities Easter Party

Great news! This year’s Easter Party is at the DuPage County Fairgrounds!  We’ve gone overboard with enthusiasm and ideas as we outgrew the American Legion!   The Easter Party is hosted each year by Winfield, West Chicago and St. Irene Councils and Special Camps for children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities.   The new venue provides the opportunity to invite families of the residents of special needs. For this event St. Irene Council will provide our grill and grill team (???). In addition we have approved funding for the party up $300.

Plan to attend! Bring your whole Family. The specifics are:

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: the “yellow building” at the DuPage County Fairgrounds (set up at 9:30 AM).

Here are the activities—A Petting Zoo, Singing and dancing on stage alongside a great DJ, Drum lessons, 3 foot tall therapeutic Miniature Horses, Crafts, Hay Ride, Face Painting, Elementary School “fun fair” style games (still looking for these), Easter Egg hunt with the Easter Bunny, Booth to share information on other events and community resources, and a picnic for families sponsored by the Knights of Columbus!
