The first “ever” virtual drive using the GoFundMe platform was a resounding success. The drive was conducted over a two month period through September and October. We thank everyone who contributed to the virtual drive.
The total donations from the platform was $4,665 from 62 donors (38 were non-Council members. In addition $440 was donated directly to the Council by cash and checks. The only cost for the drive was associated with the GoFundMe platform fees of $154.87 (3.3% of gross donations).
Katie Kostner (daughter of Brother Knight Richard Kostner) performed a special LIVE concert on Facebook and Instagram supporting our St. Irene Intellectual Disabilities Fund Drive on Oct. 28. Katie is a Junior at Wheaton Warrenville South High School and is well known throughout the Warrenville area having performed for several events and businesses including the Warrenville Park District and the Warrenville Fourth of July Celebration! During the Stay at Home orders that started this past March, Katie started doing “Live” shows on Facebook/Instagram that lasted about 30 minutes or so with a different theme each week.
Her followers have grown. Her live concert yielded 8 donations for a total of $160. Congratulations Katie!
